Conflicting opinions are welcome and necessary. However, pls let us eliminate the mudslinging that gets personal so quickly, just because we disagree.
From a practical point of view, given the situation today, getting doors open for citizenship looks remote: True.
However, in a land of immigrants, We The Legal, can stress a case for fairness. Just because we were born in a certain country and were classified by the law, the lawyer and the employer, sometimes unfairly, to be in a certain category, does not mean that we'll get into mainstream 15 years after others.
This is why we are a part of IV. There have been past successes with IV.

My PD will be current in June 2007.
My 485 was filled in June 2004 and I got married in Dec 2004. NOw I need to file I-485 for my wife. I have couple of questions.Any help is welcome.
1. Can I file her I-485 without medical/Immunization?
2. What will happen if my GC is approved before we can file her papers?
3. What are my options if the 2nd come true?

Right, it will not be good for anyone- nonimmigrants, employers or american economy. They are trying to take advantage of the current state of the economy to promote their anti-immigrant protectionist agenda. This is going to make anti-immigrant groups happy. Btw, I think these anti immigrant groups are a very small minority compared to people who support legal immigration but these are the most noisey ones.

Opened SR 9/5/2009...got letter from CRIS...wait 6 months.
For my wife , we got 60 days wait letter.

Oh when I checked my name in the following list under J BARRET @ 10:25.
Guess what my name got missed in this list too. No surprise for USCIS to skip my July 2 filing case :)-

2. Has my case been picked up by an IO or is it still waiting in the holding area? If it has been picked up by an IO, nothing you can do except filling out 7001 form. I read on the murthy.com website that the UCSIS needs to go through the Kentucky Consular Center to obtain the PIMS verification. The number for the KCC is 606-526-7500. I am going to try and call them to see if they can give me any information on timelines.

My lawyer tried calling USCIS to find out the details and they mentioned they are still processing the July 2nd cases and application are stored in 4 different warehouses.
According to her at this point we can do nothing but wait until they finish processing all the application.

CADude and others... maybe your efforts are paying off. What I learned in this process is that have faith in your application filing. If everything is fine you'll definitely get the receipts. It may be either next week or in 2 weeks.
Couple of things...
1) Calling USCIS is useless...
2) Look for checks for cashed....
3) Keep in touch with our pending group. I gives you support and motivation.

If they have info about non-availbility they will announce now rather than waiting for monday morning . Also they will be in deep trouble by moving the dates without accepting single application . As AILA reported they will do it either on monday evening/tuesday quotaing the number of application received
Dates have nothing to do with number of applications received. Visa numbers are allocated when a I485 is APPROVED. The only way dates can go U is if they APPROVE so many 485s that all of this years visa numbers are used up.

No point trying to hide your identity and faking your own convictions.
I can send all the details .. including the evidences, can u assure me of anonymity and protection under whistle blower category ??? Dude r u kidding me ... we are talking about a complaint against a Billion Dollar firm and its resources.. do u expect me to give the details in this open forum ... I received a SR reply in mail that my case is under additional review . MY pd is sep 05 and i am so frustrated. They also asked to check back after 4 - 9 months. Is there any body in that situation and what else can be done .. please advice..

Finally, we got the approval emails for self & wife.
I had got an email from TSC.Ncscfollowup@dhs.gov last friday (09/17/2010) with the update below-
1: The review was complete
2: Visa numbers were requested 2 months ago and all security/prints are current
3: Files have been forwarded to officers for completion.
In my case the email to SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov helped a lot. They in turn sent an email to TSC.Ncscfollowup@dhs.gov to step up the processing.
As others have mentioned IV has played a big part throughout this journey. Thank you again.

I read in another forum that US consulate in Canada is actually asking to fill out some PIMS form available on their website. Also you need to fax your documents 1 week prior to your appointment.
Can anyone confirm this? Man, I wish this could be the case in India also. :confused:

Just my 2 cents... Don't think USA is like India where you can do something forcefully. Why don't you guys understand the real problem of USCIS.
Do you think that by sending flower to USCIS will force them to make EB2/EB3 current for 2005/2006/2007 guys??
Please try to understand their problem.
Also India is the great. Why don't you guys just think that India is your home country where you are born and brought up. Why you people can't just wait and watch?? If nothing happens to the so called GC, then why don't you think to pack up and go back to India???????
My sincere request, please don't do rally, you might be arrested......you never know what they can do..... Don't you think that, it is better to go back to India rather than being embarrassed here in US???
Isn't it a shame on us to go for Rally to get GC?????:D
Just think that you will get it when time comes, otherwise pack up.
