Most makes sense but I don't think any candidates wait for their companies to file for EB1. EB1s can be filed by the candidates themselves. Right? All in all, if this happens, it will be good news for atleast a couple of 1000 EB2-I. :D

At the cost of being bombarded by every one in this forum,
if the VB bulletin is indeed "retrogressed" to Pre madness - back to what was supposed to be the next jump from June 2003 (perhaps 6 months or more for EB3 and 2005 for EB2), this would actually be a good thing in my opinion.
What they did by making the VB current is going to have serious consequences a few months down the line. People who have been waiting for years may still not get their turn in line, while others simply jump ahead and take away the visa numbers. People are excited at the short term benefits of EAD/AP but we must look at the long term effects also.
I believe (and im entitled to my own beliefs ) that if anything, USCIS/DOS have actually finally figured out their mistake of making everything current and are now back tracking to what would be a decent situation instead of the floodgates being opened. I dont believe it has anything to do with conspiracy theories or CIR or any such thing.
And btw - i would be one of those people who spent money to get ready for the floodgates and i would also be one of those that gets stuck!

Got the Text message on my mobile on Thursday Oct 22, at 7:45 pm. But didn't see it until 23rd morning at 9:00 am. Went to church on Thursday morning, and Friday morning, and prayed ardently. I was absolutely pissed off with the "local" ppl that got greedy and dragged the whole economy with them. Seeing that there are ppl like you (one of us) who are pretty much the same, i am seething with rage. Because of idiots like you, people with a pristine credit history of more than ten years and some saved money cant buy a decent house in the bay area (and elsewhere) and have to see their hard-earned money go down the drain in 401k and stocks.....I wish ppl like you rot in foreclosure hell and no one ever lends credit you, ever again!!!

Most of the hype is being created by the immigration law firms and attorneys, rather than DOS or USCIS. They are after the dough!
The news might just bring relief to many people, but look at who is creating the most of the hype - it's attorneys.
The comments in this update kind of seem contradictory to me. It says that there might be possibility for greater advancement than earlier thought... and then they talk about moving it back.
Whatever it is..I don't know why they are creating so much publicity about this bulletin. Does it mean they are going to advance the dates by a couple of years??? If it was for a few months why would they create so much hype about this?

Why do we need 325A?- i thought this was for people in illegal status. Our son entered the US on valid H4 visa. Also do we need to request in application to attach the file to mother or anything like that. I will give the USCIS a call and share that information here if I find anything more.

Flower campaign, I said this one week back and did not do anything on that but was requesting others to join. I did send letters twice to 6 address and sending cards again today.
How do we organize this flower camaign or anything . Shouldnt a core member start the initiative by listing the action on the headlines.
I am sure people are waiting to see Oct bulletin. But based on information we have, please be assured nothing good can be seen, unless a miracle. Wait for the next bulletin may not be as pleasant in case you are looking for a job (No I am not). Lets all shoot emails to CORE IV now, to request them to start a campaign. I think from our end that shoudl be the 1st step. Unless they get the group together, we will be headless chicken as someone said, writing in doifferent threads,

I believe IV has made it clear that they will not support us (other than tolerating us with our posts here), so we should not use IV's name (without their approval) in our letter campaign either.

Worst case I think they'll have to match EB2 India with the EB2 China date before they take it even further in the coming months for the both the countries.
VB for May will be a precursor to the movement that can be expected in the spill over quarter.
I hope May VB advances by 4-6months, that may give good chances for spillover season to hit end of 07

I have also sent group emails to my batchmates from my engg college asking them to join IV. I think everyone should do that - this will help IV to Increase its Memberships.
I had one more suggestion too - (this has recd less support in the past).
we need to put in a statement that many legals are not buying a house because of the uncertainity in the GC process. even the congressmen will be more patient with our cause when we mention housing.

There was a poll created a while back that asked this question to everyone, and fully 50% or more had already bought a house even though they had not even reached the 485 stage. I personally would not wait for GC to buy the house. If the status quo remains, it will probably be 5-6 years before they even take up my case for consideration. The housing market would certainly have recovered by then. Barring local minima and maxima, the overall trend in the housing market is always of a somewhat steady and gradual incline.

Would anyone be able to advise if I can travel out of the country after I've filed the 485 if I have an approved I-797 approval notice (for H-1B) but old H-1B stamp in pp has already expired?
If I travel out and then get the H-1B visa stamp at an outside consulate, I would be able to travel back in, but would I have considered have abandoned the 485 application? (since I travelled out without a valid H-1B stamp in pp)??
Can I travel out even before my AP arrives? Or does having an AP make a difference? I would prefer to stay on H-1B status since you never know what happens to the 140/485 application.

finally got FP notices and the appt. date was october 21st. I did a walk-in to ASC and got it done on sept. 29th. So, the cases will have the way cleared up for oct. 1st. There was an LUD on 30th, may be a result of biometrics uploading. No movement after that.
both cases are with same IO as per infopass. senators enquiry came back saying wait for 45 to 90 days. Processing in the order we received them.

Based on what the person from Rep. Lofgren's office said "there would be vote in two months", does it mean really the Sept. 26 is not "the last" date for this congress? Would there be a lame duck session? And then of course for all the politicians lame duck session would be the best opportunity to tackle this.
